Who we are

TreeBud began with a simple belief: tree planting should never leave a plastic legacy behind. For years, traditional polypropylene guards have protected saplings but polluted the landscapes they were meant to restore. Even many “compostable” alternatives still rely on collection and industrial processing - something that rarely happens in the field.

We set out to build something better.
A guard that supports young trees through the critical establishment years, then naturally returns to the soil without microplastics, waste handling, or manual retrieval.

Our mission is to give landowners, councils, charities, and rewilding teams a cleaner, simpler way to protect the environments they care about, without creating long-term environmental costs.

TreeBud is focused on three things:

  • Performance: reliable protection for early growth

  • Simplicity: no retrieval, no waste, no plastic footprint

  • Sustainability: a fully soil-compatible material lifecycle

We’re building the next generation of tree protection, one that works with nature, not against it.
